Everything in life is a lesson. Every moment is a chance to educate yourself. We have all been lectured about learning experiences, and usually it is in response to something sad or unfortunate. That’s not all that learning is about.
You learn from the good as well as the bad. Learning can be harsh or laborious, but often it can be light and joyous. Just noticing some of the beauty and wonder around you is a lesson, you learn and reinforce the fact that there is so much of it in the world, everywhere you look. Pleasant interactions with friends and strangers teaches you that not everyone is out to harm or take advantage of you. Someone lending you a sympathetic ear or a helping hand is a lesson, so learn how to do that for others.
Even with a lot of the hurtful or heartbreaking lessons, we take away some of the wrong things. Sure, romance gone sour can hurt, but it also shows you that you are capable of love, and giving your heart to someone, and there are plenty of people who can’t manage that, so you are blessed. You can focus on the fact that love can bring pain, or you can see that love can be beautiful, regardless of the pain. Maybe you were the one who didn’t love completely. Learn to love even better next time.
Loss can bring overwhelming grief, but the grief is only there because of all the joy and happiness you had. Treasure those memories, and build on them. Learn to bring that kind of joy and happiness to someone else’s life. Make the lessons they taught you matter; make their lives matter.
The stars want to remind you that most of the bad things in life have an equal amount of good to balance them out, you just have to actively look for it. Once you see it, wring every bit of information from it. Find the lesson in your experiences, all of them, good and bad, and educate yourself. You’re never too old to learn.
