Today's Horoscope

Prey animals live in fear. True, not every moment. You can see them leaping and playing and doing things we interpret as fun. They are always on guard, though. Part of their brain is always ready to run, to flee, to protect themselves from danger that may appear out of nowhere. From the sky, behind a rock, from the long grass; or hiding in plain sight, camouflaged and disguised as something else until the last second.
That is how they live, always agitated and unsure, not even aware of exactly what it is that they are afraid of. Most of the time, their first run in with a predator is their last. The ones that survive are even more leery, seeing their attackers everywhere, knowing that next time might be the time they are torn apart and devoured.
And so the stars see that many people are like predator or prey. Neither way is any good. The predators destroy. They hurt and they kill and they take everything when they get the chance.
The prey have it worse. They may survive, but they can be left shattered and incomplete, doomed to live a half life, broken and fearful. Human predators don't hunt for food or necessity. They hunt because they are selfish and damaged and always empty, and they can never be full. Their victims never provide nourishment or peace, only more hunger and desire.
The stars want to remind us that we are the only animals that truly get to decide what we want to be. It's not always easy, and it's not always obvious, but in the end it is our choice. We can be predator, we can be prey, or we can be something else.
The stars recommend that you be something else, otherwise, what's the point of being human at all?
