New Years is all about resolutions and a new you and bettering yourself and all that, and we start out with jokes about how we will give up on the gym or any of our other resolutions three weeks in. That's because you don't change your life based on an arbitrary position of the earth in its orbit. You base them on when you're ready to change. When you've had enough, or you have the time and energy to devote to it, or just some real motivation.
Rather than expecting a new you based on some resolve to start living your life completely differently than you have up till now on a whim, look backwards. See how much you've grown over the past year. See where you won and where you failed, and figure out what you did right and what you did wrong. Feel more pride than usual in the things you achieved, and be a little less harsh on yourself for the things you messed up.
The stars think you need to look back and learn from that before you even think about moving forward. Then move forward when you're ready, not when the calendar tells you.
