Today’s Horoscope

The problem with happiness is that a lot of people feel that they don’t deserve it. They will somehow find a way to sabotage any chance they get at being happy. Even if we don’t feel this way, we often find ourselves tied to or surrounded by people who do. We often look for our happiness in another person, for them to make our lives better, and it’s not wise to base your happiness on that.
Still more people don’t even know how to define happiness if you ask them. How you find something if you have no clue what it looks like? We search in vain for something we can’t express, driven by some vague dissatisfaction we can’t shake.
Most people don’t have the luxury of having a passion. They aren’t driven by any singular purpose, they don’t have a calling or focus, just a rotating list of distractions. Instead of worrying about happiness, they are simply trying to survive.
Still, the stars want you to know that you have options. Opportunities are all around. You have to go find your happiness, you can’t just hope it knocks on your door. You have to understand that what makes you happy changes as you get older, and grow as a person. If the things that once brought you happiness aren’t doing it anymore, find new things, and leave the old things behind.
Happiness comes in many forms we don’t always recognize. Sometimes it is simply the satisfaction that comes with taking care of your responsibilities. Sometimes it is security or contact, or just feeling like you belong. Sometimes it’s a connection, to a person or art or literature. It might be nature or technology, or simply being at peace in a quiet space you’ve carved out for yourself.
Most of the time, it isn’t that our lives are devoid of happiness, it’s that we don’t recognize it when we have it. In the same way that we can’t go look for it if we don’t know what it looks like, it makes it hard to know when we’ve found it.
Only you can decide what makes you happy. Only you can decide you deserve it. Only you can go out and figure out what it is, and find it once you do.
Only you can make you happy.
