Today's Horoscope

All signs:
The stars know that sometimes it seems like the whole world is fighting you, and everyone just wants to see you fail. At times, that's exactly what's happening.
Like the stars always tell you, humans are complex and damaged, and that can be a very bad combination at times. There are people who will resent you for a multitude of reasons. Some are jealous. Some see something in you that triggers feelings or anger from things that others have done to them. Some feel inferior, and lash out at you because they think you are trying to show them up or make them look foolish.
Some people have become so damaged that the more you love them, the more they try to prove that they are unlovable.
Then there is the simple fact that life is a competition. We may not notice it, but we are in constant competition for our jobs, for love, for friendship, for status, for concert tickets and parking spaces, just about everything in our lives. You might not be actively competing, but others most certainly are.
In the end, there are a lot of people that will try to get ahead, or to make them feel better about themselves, and to do that they will try to make you feel guilty or ashamed about simply being yourself. Don't let them do that.
Here is where the stars tell you to always be on guard and aware of how people are treating you and the motivations behind it. They will once again warn you that it involves a little work and effort in your part, to consciously and continually examine your own actions in all this. The stars hate to repeat themselves, but they have to, because it's important.
The payoff is that when you examine your own role in your life, you become more confident. You become more aware of how you treat others. You become better equipped to figure out which people in your life want what's best for you, and which people want to see you fail. You can then be strong and brave, and demand more for yourself, and have the self respect to jettison the people who are trying to tear you down just to build themselves up. Just as important, you learn not to put the blame on anything else when it's your own shortcomings that are holding you back.
You become happier and more complete, and you find that your life is full of people that are on your side, not against you. All for the small price of a little self examination.
And that is how you beat the competition without having to sell yourself out in the process.
