There are limits to what you can do. You can only try to help someone so much. Most of the people who need help in this world don't even know it. They adapt to the misery they live in, and cling to it, and fear any change might make it worse.
Even those who do know it have a hard time admitting it, even to themselves. Many of us have some misguided voice inside us, telling us we are weak or should be ashamed of accepting help. Still others are afraid of asking for help because people have turned on them, and tried to use it to make them feel guilty or gain control over them. They have been hurt before, and nothing will make them try again.
So it goes, so many people missing out on happiness and love, peace and companionship, telling themselves that they are fine when their heart aches and their mind rages with torment.
The stars know how hard it is to see that, and not be able to do a damn thing about it. They watch as your heart breaks, seeing their broken hearts and shattered dreams, and the stars hearts break right along with ours.
Life is joy and light and wonder, but not for many. It eludes them, and they trip and stumble in darkness, never reaching out to simply grasp our outstretched hand, just waiting there to be taken.
