Sometimes they leave peacefully, sometimes they leave in violence and senseless tragedy. Sometimes they pass surrounded by loved ones, in the bosom of their family. Sometimes they go alone, maybe in their bed or just walking down the street. Occasionally they die far from home, even in a foreign land, or on a battlefield.
However they pass on, know that they loved you, and know that they understood that you loved them. If you know that you are loved, you're never alone, that love lives inside you and you carry it everywhere you go.
Weep for them, and for yourself, but celebrate all that they were. You are now one of the keepers of their memory, and that's a joy, not a burden. Remember who they were and what they gave to you and to the world, and tell their stories.
No matter how much it might hurt, there are going to be those moments when you think of them, and the love and happiness they brought you, and you will smile. They will be there with you again, and you'll realize that they always will be, no matter how dark and lonely and frightened you might be. Because love does not die, it lives on in whomever you give it to. People you haven't seen in years are still thinking about the love or joy you gave them, the stars guarantee it.
So the stars want to remind you to live your life in a way that leaves the people you care about with memories and a love that brings them comfort and peace, even when you're gone, just like others did for you.
